The Siamese is a sleek, colourpoint breed from Thailand with striking blue almond eyes and a loud, expressive voice. One of the oldest and most recognisable Asian breeds, it forms intense bonds and is famous for "talking" to its owners.
Siamese are extroverted and highly communicative, holding "conversations" in a distinctive raspy voice and insisting on being part of everything you do. They are clever, trainable and prone to separation stress, so they generally do best with lots of interaction or a feline companion.

The short, single coat is very easy to maintain — a weekly stroke with a rubber glove is plenty, and they shed little. Their real need is mental and social: puzzle toys, climbing space and company prevent boredom-driven mischief in this smart breed.
